A NEW film based on the first of a series of vampire novels written by US author Stephenie Meyer - a Mormon housewife hailed as the new JK Rowling - is set to thrill teenage film fans in the UK.

Appealing to the same audience as boy wizard Harry Potter, Twilight centres on a fantasy romance in which Bella Swan, a human played by Kristen Stewart, falls in love with vampire, Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.

It has already topped the US box office and took almost £50million in its first weekend in the States, more than it cost to make.

Thousands of fans had camped out at promo events prior to the US release.

Now the producers have brought forward its UK release to fill a gap in the market created by the delay of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, which will not hit British screens until July.

Twilight premieres in the UK early next month and a sequel, New Moon, is already in the pipeline.

Fans of Harry Potter who are also Twilighters will recognise Pattinson, who played Cedric in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire.

And he admits he couldn't wait to get his teeth into the role and his audition involved a bedroom scene with his beautiful co-star Kristen Stewart.

Robert said: "When I got into bed with Kristen, I said, 'I've only known you for an hour and we are in bed.' "I think I must have gone way over the top with it as well, because I remember looking up afterwards and director Catherine Hardwicke had a look on her face as if to say, 'What are you doing? You look like you're having a seizure.' "I felt something with Kristen during that scene, which very rarely happens between two actors.

There isn't a hotter movie out there right now than the vampire love story Twilight, and star Kristen Stewart dished to me about every angle. She does her own stunts, totally gets where her character Bella is coming from, and sees it all as something much more than the story of a girl "in love with the hottest vampire in the world."

How Does Rob Deal With Stalkers?

Times of the Internet has an article on Rob, who reveals this interesting piece of information:

“I had a stalker while filming a movie in Spain last year,” he told Teen. “She stood outside of my apartment I used every day for weeks - all day, every day.”

In a moment of inspiration, the young Brit star of Twilight came up with a simple way to get rid of the woman.

“I was so bored and lonely that I went out and had dinner with her,” he said. “I just complained about everything in my life and she never came back.”

Robert says his secret weapon is his personality.

“People get bored of me, in like, two minutes.”
